Valerie Lyn Robbins

December 21, 1956 — June 28, 2019

Valerie Lyn Robbins age 62, of Stanton, passed away at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. Our dear Valerie was born on December 21, 1956 and left this world for a better one at 5:45 AM Friday, June 28, 2019. Val was a member of Sheridan Assembly of God where she gave all her heart in service. She played piano for worship service ever Sunday, wrote and directed the Easter Passion plays and started a Christian school, where she taught and was a principal for years. Later in life, at the age of 59, she graduated from college with a double major in psychology and child development. Valerie was loyal and generous, almost to a fault. She passionately loved her family, blood or not. The fabric of her life was so closely interwoven with her family that you never knew which grandchild would answer the phone when you called her. Val would go to the ends of the earth for her grandchildren. Distance nor broken ribs could keep Val from her little darlings. Valerie’s husband, Anthony, says they have been married for 37 years and best friends for a grand total of 44 years. God put two imperfect people together, but Tony never had any regrets. She was fiercely loyal and a faithful friend. The two of them were the perfect fit. Valerie is survived by her husband, Anthony Robbins; children; Erika (Mark) Rochow, Caleb (Ashley) Robbins, Gena (Joe) Vonier; grandchildren; Ava, Reid, Carter, Ezra, Piper, Neena; siblings: Vicki (Ken) Cuyler, Lucy (Greg) Robbins, Don (Kathy) Pellow, Roxie (Doug) Paulsen, Virgil (Trisha) Jurden, Doug (Janice) Mascho, Debie (Don) Kolehouse and her step-mom Lela Jurden. Valerie was preceded in death by her parents: Virgil (Buster) Jurden Sr. and Diana Jurden. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Sheridan Assembly of God. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday, July 1, 2019 at Sheridan Assembly of God. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Langston, Michigan. Memorial contributions in Valerie’s name can be made to the Sheridan Assembly of God.
