Shirley M. Abbey

Shirley M. Abbey age 81, of Sidney, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 under the care of Heartland hospice. She was born March 6, 1934 in Saginaw, the daughter of Hugh E. & Edith C. (Gaskill) Erb. She was a member of the Sheridan Congregational Church. Shirley is survived by her husband Lawrence; children Brian & (Brenda) Abbey of Lake Orion, Dawn & (Dale) Swoofer of Livonia and Bruce & (Sheri) Abbey of North Branch; son in law Mark Mullen of Pentwater; 8 grandchildren Katie & (Brendon) Galvin, Stephanie & (Mark) Tabor, Joshua & (Tina) Abbey, John & (Emily) Abbey, Abbey & (Jesse) Zuelhke, Mitchel & (Kayla) Mullen, Lawrence Abbey and Angel Abbey; 5 great grandchildren Eva and Mason Abbey, Luke and Sebrina Tabor and James Zuelhke. He was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Dyanne Mullen, sister Elizabeth Lamb and her brother Mike Erb. Memorial Services will be 11 AM Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Sheridan Congregational Church with Rev. Philip VanDop officiating. Memorial contgributions can be made in Shirley’s name to Mrs. Mullen’s Closet located in Shelby, in care of the Community Foundation for Oceana County.
