Rose Ellen (Raymor) Beardslee

Rose Ellen (Raymor) Beardslee, passed away May 14, 2020, and is now in the arms of Jesus. Rose was the eldest child of Elwood (Al) Raymor and Flora Raymor. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan in 1932 and lived the majority of her life in Greenville, Michigan. She was a joy and a blessing to everyone who knew her. Always giving to everyone. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and was an avid bowler. She received a special award for attending the Michigan State Bowling Tournament for 45 years and even into her eighties she was bowling 200 plus games. Her highest game was 258. She attended Calvary Baptist Church and was an Awana leader there for many years when her grandchildren were young. She worked for General Motors in Grand Rapids for 30 years retiring at age 62. Her job was sewing the car seats, which she did at a large machine with over a dozen needles going at once. She is survived by her daughter Audrey (Joe) Numbers, sons, Elwood Brent (September) Oberlin and William "Bill" Oberlin; grandchildren Jerimiah (Sherri) Oberlin, Faith (Nick) Perry, Matthew (Emily) Oberlin, Jennifer (Adam) Geers, and eleven great grand-children, as well as Cindy (Dave) Foreman and Dennis (Amanda) Nance who were like children to her. She is also survived by her brother William (Jane) Raymor, her step-brother, Larry Wilson, and her sisters, Flora (Stan) Horrocks, Sally (Clarence) Reed, Dorothy Puffpaff, and Jean (Dick) Gilbert. Rose was preceded in death by her mother, Flora, and her father, Al, her step-mother, Grace Raymor and for over fifty years, her step-mother June Raymor, her son, Gary Oberlin, her sister, Kay (Raymor) Barthel and her brother, Stuart Raymor. A private burial will be held at Forest Home Cemetery and a memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Calvary Baptist in Greenville, Michigan.
