Raymond M. Williams age 75, of Mecosta, formerly of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital. He was born December 16, 1939 in Greenville, the son of Edward T. & Mary A. (Skopec) Williams. Raymond will be missed and is survived by his son Tim & (Cameo) Williams of Mason; grandchildren Casandra, Alexis, Macayla and Gabriel Williams; sister Rita & (Stuart) Citron of Grand Rapids; loving companion Victoria Taylor and family of Mecosta; niece Laurie Williams; nephews Andrew Citron, Guy and Richard & (Sandy) Williams; great nephew Dusty & (Lanessa) Williams; cousin Elaine Caswell of Saranac. He was precede in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Williams, and his brother Richard. Ray graduated from Greenville High School, served 4 years in the United States Navy and then attended Davenport University. While residing in Grand Rapids he helped raise his son through high school and Valparaiso University Law School. He also worked 40 years in the transportation industry in logistics for Darling Freight, Allied Trucking and others. He enjoyed being physically active, playing table tennis, skating with his friends in Gowen, loved country music, playing his accordion with his brother Richard and was an avid Lions and Tigers fan. Most of all he was always smiling loved being with his family, enjoyed summer gatherings at Pretty Lake fishing with his grandchildren, was a man of strong faith, loving, humble, steadfast, patient and put others before himself. Memorial Services will be 11 AM Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, officiated by Pastor Joel Heron, followed by Full Military Services by the American Legion Post #101 of Greenville. Members of the family will meet with friends and relatives from 10 till the service. Family burial will take place later at Rest Haven Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made in Ray’s name to the American Lung Association or given to the family for expenses.
