Phyllis Jean Mayne aged 97 of Charlotte NC, formerly of Greenville, MI, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Sunday December 19th 2021. Phyllis was born March 25th 1924 in Lansing MI to Isabel (George) & Howard Shiffler. Phyllis married Robert Fredrick Mayne in Huntington, Indiana 2 days after her 19th birthday. They both attended MSU, Robert with a degree in veterinary medicine and Phyllis with a career in social work employed through the state of Michigan, until she retired. She was a remarkable home maker in every sense of the word. An incredible cook, able to make something delectable out of ‘whatever’ Robert would drag home! She was loving, kind and caring to one and all. A godly woman that was devoted to her family and many friends. In 1979 they moved to the Greenville area and resided there for 33 years. She moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2012 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Phyllis is survived by her son James Mayne, daughter Mary Dunigan and son Cyril & (Victoria) Mayne. Grandchildren Casey, Tyler, Sarah, Myla, CJ, & great grandchildren Sianna, Cyril, Amarah, Epiphanie, Penelope, Charlotte-Anne, Claire, Lucas & Magnolia. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert, son in law, Terry Dunigan, daughter in law, Laura Mayne (Durant) & grandson, Jesse Mayne. A graveside service will be 11 AM Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Findlay Cemetery, Ada Township, Kent County. ***Please note the correct time***
