Nancy Jean Smith (age 68), August 3,1957 – November 21, 2025, resided in Coldwater, MI. Nance, as she preferred to be called, was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Ambrose Crowley Sr. and Madelyn Gail (Hansen) Fritts; her husband, Tim Smith, her brother-in-law Dale Stephens and sister-in-law, Neomi Crowley.

She is survived by her children, Bobby Crowley, Chrystal Rosenberry, Brandy Adams, Brian Champion, Stacy Phairas; her sisters, Penny Stephens, Patti (Dave) Ursul, Tina Goodman, Rebecca (Tim) Tobin, her brothers, Robert Crowley Jr., Kelly (Amy) Crowley and her stepbrother Richard (Cathy) Fritts; her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Nance passed away peacefully in the home of her daughter, Stacy, along with Nance’s grandchildren, Piper and Cooper who were the light of her life and will carry her kisses and hugs in their hearts forever. Nance’s life was one of service, love and unshakeable devotion to those she loved. She held cherished roles at the Elks and American Legions, pouring her heart into every task and event she was a part of. Nance was born to serve and literally ran circles around everyone with her abundant energy. She also held the position of a CNA, offering compassion, kindness, and comfort to those in her care which reflected her commitment to helping others. Nance had a tender heart, full of compassion – but she was also a fierce force to be reckoned with. Her strength, determination and resilience carried her through many difficult chapters, and though life presented challenges she could not undo, those trials never diminished the love she had for her family. Her heart held them close, always. Those who loved her admired her tenacity and felt her unwavering love.

Nance found comfort in caring for God’s creatures – loving all animals and faithfully feeding stray cats, watching, feeding and delighting in the birds and squirrels that visited her each day.

Nance will be remembered for her loving heart, her strong will, and the unique blend of gentleness and fire that made her who she was. Nance will be deeply missed, and her warmth, humor and generosity will live on in all the hearts she touched. She is now at peace - resting safely in God’s memory, awaiting the promised resurrection.

A private family service and celebration of life will be held later to honor her memory.

Arrangements are by the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, www.marshallfuneralhomeinc.com for complete obituary and to leave a message of condolence for the family.
