Murl O. "Red" Sanders age 84 of Greenville, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital in Greenville. He was born August 9, 1929 in Hemlock, MI, the son of Glen & Edna (Giles) Sanders. Red was a member of the Greenville Moose Lodge #1939, Eagles #4321 and past worthy president, Greenville Masonic Lodge #96, American Legion Post #101 where he was past commander, district commander, state vice commander and service officer, 40 et 8 and had retired from Consumer Power. He is survived by his daughters and son in law Teri & (Pat) Agema of Greenville and Sheri Hall of Florida; sons Doug and Dan of Greenville; 7 grandchildren Sarah & (Ryan) Schaefer of Hubbardston, Kyle & (Amanda) Sanders of Beaverton, Alicia & (John) Louise, Ashley Horton and Adam Hall all of Florida, and Jake and Tori Sanders of Greenville; 8 great grandchildren Tata and Tizi Louise, Haylei, Remington, Meah and Pyper Schaefer, Raleigh and Payton Sanders; brothers in law Jack & (Jean) Burzley of Texas and Bob & (Pam) Beazley of Stanton. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara on December 16, 2012, son Darrell on October 9, 2005, parents, sisters Joyce Harris and Dorothy Robbins. Cremation has taken place. Full Military Memorial Services will be 11 AM Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville by the American Legion. Members of the family will meet with relatives and friends 4 to 7 PM Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville and also for 1 hour prior to the services on Friday. During the visitation on Thursday, feel free to wear one of Red's favorite team apparel (U of M, tigers, lions or the red wings) in his honor. Military Graveside Services will be held after the service at Rest Haven Memory Gardens with a luncheon to follow at the Greenville American Legion at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in Red's name to the American Legion Children's Welfare Foundation.
