In Loving Memory of Our Mom, Lourdes Villena Williams
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our mother, Lourdes Villena Williams, who left us on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the age of 79. Her life was marked by hardship, resilience, and a determination to keep moving forward despite the challenges she faced.
Lourdes was born on August 25, 1946, in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, Philippines, to Fausto Villena and Placida Cortez. Her upbringing was difficult, and she learned early how to survive in circumstances that offered her little stability or support. Even with the struggles she carried from her past, she worked to make the best of the situations she was given.
Lourdes enjoyed life’s small comforts: playing bingo, browsing thrift shops for little treasures, sharing friendly outings to the casino, and cooking Filipino dishes that reminded her of home. Her loyal dog, Lily, was a constant source of companionship and comfort, and in a touching reflection of their bond, Lily passed peacefully by her side.
Lourdes is survived by her children, Eric (Tracey) Denney of Wyoming and Rose Denney of Hudsonville; her grandchildren Cynthia, Julian, Joshua, Jocelinn, Noah, and Sydney; and her great-grandchildren Semari, David, Mila, and Eric. Each of whom brought brightness to her life.
Lourdes was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Though she passed away at home, she leaves this world surrounded by the love of her family and the memories she created along the way. Her spirit and her laughter will live on in those who knew her.
In keeping with Lourdes’ wishes, no services are being held. Her final resting place will be in her homeland, as she will be lovingly returned to the Philippines for interment.
Arrangements are entrusted to Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville. For the complete obituary or to leave a message of condolence for the family, please visit marshallfuneralhomeinc.com.
From Rose and Eric:
Mom, your life was not easy, but you gave us everything you had. You showed us strength, survival, and love in the ways you knew how. We wish we could have been there in your final moments, but we hope you felt our love surrounding you always. We will carry your spirit forward — in the food you taught us to make, in the stories you told, and in the resilience you passed down. Rest now, Mom. You deserve peace. We love you forever.
