Lois Zerull Walker Jackson Farnsworth age 92, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Langston, Battle Creek and Flint, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Clark Retirement Community Home. She was born February 27, 1924 in Danville, Kentucky, the daughter of James B. & Clare (Zerull) Walker. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenville, and a founding member of Chapel Hill Methodist Church in Battle Creek. Lois graduated from Michigan State University in 1945, and earned her Masters in Library Science from Western Michigan University in 1969. She was a librarian at Kellogg Community College for many years. Lois is survived by her husband of 32 years, Lauriston; her children Judith & (Thomas) Monroe of Evanston, Illinois, Jeffrey Jackson of Taos, New Mexico and son-in-law Thomas Burchman of East Lansing, Michigan; Larry’s children Richard & (Jane) Farnsworth of Grand Rapids, Greg Farnsworth of East Lansing, Bradley & (Cheryl) Farnsworth of Houston, Texas, Douglas & (Michelle) Farnsworth of Columbus, Indiana and Lauretta & (Jim) Mortensen of Wilton Connecticut; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her first husband Ted F. Jackson in 1975 and her daughter Jan in 2005. Funeral Services will be at Greenville First United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 12 with Reverend Steve Lindeman officiating. Visitation will be at 10 AM at the church. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 14 at 1 PM at the Chapel of Clark Retirement Community on Franklin Street in Grand Rapids, with Reverend Tim Tuthill officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorial Contributions can be made in Lois’s name to Jan Burchman Memorial Scholarship (Okemos Music Patrons), The Clark Home, or the American Heart Association.
