Kevin Ross Newell

Kevin Ross Newell age 59, passed away September 11, 2024 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He was born July 26, 1965, the son of Jonas D. & Bonnie L. (Poort) Newell. He was employed at Plasti Paint Inc. in St. Louis. He loved to hunt, fish, cook/grill out, loved the outdoors and most importantly he loved being a grandpa (Papa). He also had a green thumb for any plant(s). He loved to garden. He loved being around his family, a big family man. After a hard days of work he loved to have a nice drink and to sit by the bonfire and listen to music. Kevin is survived by his wife Peggy; children Derek (Amanda) Newell of Muskegon, Kayla Newell of Alma and Gilbert Chaffin of Bangor; grandchildren Madison Newell, Cameron Palmer and Bram Eller; brothers Darrell Newell of Muskegon and Brian (Terri) Newell of Clare; mother Bonnie Poort of Muskegon; step sisters Maryann Clark of Texas and Tina Dalton of Colorado and his nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 2 PM Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the Marshall Funeral Home, 420 W. Grove St. Greenville, Mi 48838. Visitation will be from 12 PM until 2 PM. The service will at 2 PM.  Arrangements are being handled by the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, with complete obituary online at Marshall Funeral Home Greenville, MI where you can leave a message of condolence for the family. The family will be having a luncheon at the American Legion Post at 1320 W Washington St Greenville MI 48838.
