Kenneth Allen age 90, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at his home. He was born June 6, 1924 in Lakeview, the son of John & Bessie (Sherman) Allen. He was a member of the Ashley Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher, a veteran of the US Air Force in World War II, member of Lester J. Sitts VFW Post #5065 in Sheridan, retired from Federal Mogul and later on owned and operated the Blossom Time Greenhouse with his son Charles where he also drove the flower delivery truck. Kenneth is survived by his wife Iris; son and daughter in law James & (Debbie) Allen; daughter Diane Antcliff of Greenville; 6 grandchildren Todd Allen, Amber & (Brandon) Ciesielski, Courtney & (WesLee) Tweedale, Jimmy & (Amanda) Allen, Debra & (Matthew) Hill and Christi Antcliff; 11 great grandchildren; sisters and brother in law Imogene & (Art) Galloway of Greenville and DeElda Martin of Texas; many nieces and nephews and also by Connie Packard the mother of Jimmy and Debra. He was preceded in death by his parents sons Robert Jack Allen and Charles Allen, daughter in law Karen Allen, grandson Chad Allen and by his brothers Harold & (Cora) Allen, Clifton & (Vera) Allen, sister Beatrise Allen and brother in law Emory Martin. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Ashley Baptist Church, officiated by Doctor David Oliver, with a luncheon immediately following at the church. Visitation will be 10 AM Wednesday till the services at the church. Full Military Committal Services will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Stanton by the Lester J. Sitts VFW Post #5065 of Sheridan. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Ashely Baptist Church.
