John W. Sherman

John W. Sherman age 69, passed away Mon day, September 30, 2019 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids. He was born March 1, 1950, the son of George & Marion (Howard) Sherman. He had a love for the outdoors. From fishing to hunting he was a true sportsman. He enjoyed many years of bowling and coaching youth bowlers. Family was one of the most important things to him including the many kids and grandkids he considered to be his own. He would do anything for his wife, kids and grandkids including being a girl scout leader. His eyes always lit up when his grandkids entered the room. . John is survived by his wife JoAnn of Belding; children Shelly (John) Sabin of Belding and Brandy (Jason) Thomas of Belding; grandchildren John Sabin, Jr, Derek Sabin, Alec Sabin, Summer Thomas, Serenity Thomas and Madison Thomas; sisters Cheryl (Steve) Robinson, Cindy Brooks and Chris (James) Harris all of Belding; brother Randy (Linda) Sherman of Manchester, Tennessee and many nieces and nephews. Funeral & Committal Services will be 1 PM Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville with Pastor Paul Leslie officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM to the services on Thursday. There will be a funeral luncheon immediately following the funeral as the family is not going to the cemetery. Burial will be in River Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider the needs of the family.
