January 5, 1934 — December 17, 2018

Jim Teman age 84 of Greenville, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 at home. He was born January 5, 1934 in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Royal G. & Caroline B. (Mills) Teman, and graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1952. While growing up in Grand Ledge he worked for his father, who owned the local family funeral home. In 1956 Jim moved to Greenville, and following in his fathers footsteps became a licensed funeral director and took over a funeral home which he ran with his family until 2002. Jim was always active in the Greenville community, early on as a reserve police officer and a volunteer firefighter as well as active duty in the National Guard. Jim was a longtime board member at United Memorial Hospital, an official for the Salvation Army and a member of the Lions Club. Throughout his life, Jim was an avid sports fan, from captaining the 1951 Grand Ledge championship baseball team, to being a longtime season ticket holder for Michigan and Michigan State football and basketball. In retirement he shifted his energy to his favorite fulltime job, spoiling his grandchildren.
