Glen Ackley, Jr.

Glen Ackley, Jr. age 88 of Greenville, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017 at his home under the care of Spectrum Hospice. He was born in Greenville, the son of Glen J. & Coral P. (Gillieo) Ackley. He was a a contractor for over 50 years, a life member of the Flat River Conservation Club, former member of the Tamarack Sportsmans Club and served in the 1073rd Division of the National Guard for 6 years. Glen is survived by his children Glen J & (Jan) Ackley of Gowen, Glenna & (Jerry) Wright of Coral and Gina & (Bill) Bean of Greenville; grandchildren Mark & (Kristy) Traylor, Glen & (Tracey) Ackley, Chris Ackley, Jessica & (Kyle) Kurtz, Shauna & (Troy) Thompson, JayDe & (Sarah) Houghton, Rachel & (Landon) Agular and Justin & (Heather) Schultz; 19 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and by is nieces and nephews. He was preceded in deazth by his parents Glen and Coral Ackley, wife Shirley M. Ackley on March 3, 2013 and by his sister Myrtle Ackley. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Vinewood Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Glen’s name to Spectrum Hospice.
