Gary L. Nelson

Gary L. Nelson age 72, of Greenville, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born April 27, 1945 in Greenville, the son of Enghart and Barbara (Stratton) Nelson. Gary loved his Harley, fast cars, car shows, Nascar races, working on tractors, attending horse pulling and tractor pulling, all types of woodworking and watching wrestling on TV. Gary is survived by his wife Renay and children Shonne & (David) Longway of Ionia, Todd Bruinekool of Gowen and Lisa; grandchildren Shannen Ellis & (Jake), Nicole Ellis & (Larry), Jenny & (Mike) Minnis, Kelsey Bruinekool & (Jake), Nick Scholten, Eliah TerHaar, and Skylar Longway; great grandchildren Luke, Brandon, Donavan, Caellum, Jaedyn, Bryson, Torryn and Hailey. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Holly M. Bruinekool on December 13, 2007. Graveside Funeral Services will be 2 PM Friday, May 12, 2017 at Rest Haven Memory Gardens with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. The family requests no flowers.
