Frank C. Somerfield

Frank C. Somerfield, age 89, went to heaven to be with the love of his life, Sally, on July 4, 2020. He was born July 17, 1930 in Saginaw to Anthony and Leona Somerfield, where he resided his whole life until moving to Greenville in 2015. He graduated from Saginaw High School in 1948. He was proud to have served in the Marines from 1948 through 1952. He retired from Consumers Power in 1987. The greatest joy of his life was his family, followed by spending time at his place in Lake City, traveling in the RV, and deer hunting. Frank is survived by his children, Denis (Kelly) Somerfield of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Cheri (Jim) Davidson of Grand Haven; Jeff (Shellie) Somerfield of Greenville; and, daughter-in-law Kelly Somerfield of Saginaw. He had ten (10) grandchildren, Rachel (Andrew) Toby; Ryan Davidson; Brett (Julie); Brendon; Lindsay; Parker; Austin; Leah; and Connor Somerfield. He had three (3) great grandchildren, Layla; Christian and Vira Jade. Surviving siblings are sister Dolly Harmer of Tennessee and Jim (Aggie) Somerfield of Standish. He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony & Leona; wife Sally M. Somerfield; son Dean F. Somerfield; granddaughter Heather McMillan; brothers Tony and Jack Somerfield; and sister Agnes Dufur. A private family service celebrating his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made in Frank's name to the adult day services provided by Clay Street Center in Greenville.
