Emily Morgan Shearer

Emily Morgan Shearer, age 34, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 30th, 2024 in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Born on September 10th, 1989 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of Michael Dennis Shearer & Sally Jean Scott Shearer. Morgan studied Archaeology at Hocking Hills College. She spent a year volunteering with City Year AmeriCorps in New Orleans, Louisiana, working with youths as a student success coach. Morgan was employed as a shipping clerk with Comfort Research, having worked at both their Michigan & Tennessee locations, as well as being a certified pharmacy technician. Morgan was fond of animals, and never met a stray she didn't want to adopt. She loved music like her father and enjoyed blacksmithing like her great great grandfather. She loved moths, stuffed animals and orange chrysanthemums. Rarely seen without her baseball cap and Carhartt jacket, she was known for her kindness, and her deep affection for her family, friends & co-workers. She is survived by her mother, Sally Jean Shearer, her uncle Gregory Lee Scott & aunt JoAnn Scott, her sisters, DeeDee Williams, Syreeta Shearer, Jessica Garcia & Faith Michael Shearer, her beloved friends Brad & Danielle Cushion and their children, Adalene and Daven. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Dennis Shearer and grandmother, Dorothy Faith Raymont Scott. A memorial will be held 3 PM Friday, July 12, 2024 at the Marshall Funeral Home in Greenville, Michigan.
