Donna Mary Proctor

Donna Mary Proctor age 88, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Green Acres Assisted Living under the care of Corewell Hospice. Donna was born July 12, 1937 to Edward and Mildred (Fleet) Arends in Sparta, Michigan.  She graduated from Ravenna High School and went to work at St. Mary’s Hospital.  After meeting Clifford Proctor, they eventually married in February of 1959 and moved to Greenville, where they raised six children and prospered. Donna was strong in her Catholic faith and a proud member of St. Charles Catholic Church where for many years she helped to organize funeral luncheons, took communion to shut ins and did whatever she was asked of, all in the service to her Lord and Savior.  As everyone knows Donna was a hardcore golfer, playing many rounds whether it be with a favorite foursome, a golf outing or in the women’s golf league she helped to run at Brookside Golf Course where she acquired the nickname of “Down the Middle Donna”. She loved bowling leagues and the state tournaments, trips to Branson, Las Vegas and local casinos. She and Cliff traveled often whether it be with a few close friends, a bus adventure or a cruise. She enjoyed spending time with the kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She loved sporting events especially watching the Tigers and Lions play. Her most treasured past time of all though, was playing cards with her besties. Donna sold Stanley home cleaning products in the area for over 40 years, consistently being one of the top salespersons in the country, receiving many awards for outstanding performance and customer service. Between church, family, Stanley sales and her various other hobbies, Donna cast a large social net. If you ever spent time with her around town and the surrounding area you would eventually ask yourself, “Is there anyone this woman doesn’t know”?  If she didn’t know you, she knew your mom, sister or cousin. Donna was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Mildred Arends, husband Clifford, son Randall, brothers Leo Arends and Joseph Arends and her sisters Ellen Jablonski and Theresa Courtade. She is survived by her sons Paul (Sharon) Proctor of Greenville, Mark (Sue) Proctor of Holt, Rodney Proctor of Greenville; daughters Jacqueline (Jay) Duke of Brighton and Betsy Proctor of Greenville; many grandkids, great grandkids and great great grandkids and her brother Thomas Arends of Rockford. Memorial Funeral Mass will be 12 Noon Friday, June 12, 2026 at St. Charles Catholic Church with members of the family meeting with friends from 11 till the time of Mass. Burial will take place in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family would like contributions to be made to St. Charles Catholic School or the charity of your choice.
