Donald "Don" Stevens, age 84, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Born on July 15, 1941, Don was the son of Margaret M. Lewis and Donald B. Stevens. From an early age, Don developed a deep affection for farm tractors, a passion that would shape both his personal and professional life. His fascination with machinery led him to become a gifted and knowledgeable mechanic, dedicating most of his career to working on farm equipment. Through decades of service, Don earned the respect and gratitude of countless farmers and friends who relied on his expertise and appreciated his quiet dependability. Don’s gentle nature and steady presence made him a cherished figure among those who knew him. Whether offering a helping hand or sharing a quiet moment of conversation, he brought warmth and calm to every interaction. He is survived by his devoted wife, Connie Stevens; his daughters Deborah (Jeff) Bassett of Irons, Michigan; Denice (Mitchell) Thomas of Deland, Florida; and his son Scott Stevens of Greenville, Michigan. He also leaves behind his sisters, Sandy (Randy) Frantsen and Sue (John) Keehn. Don also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren and five great grandchildren, each one a source of immense pride and joy in his life. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at his church, Huggard Bible Church, 8860 21 Mile Road, Sand Lake, MI on Saturday, November 22nd at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon immediately following the service. The family invites all who knew Don to attend, share stories, and honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s name to the American Heart Association.
