Diana Marie Jones (née Kennedy), born July 1, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 1, surrounded by her loved ones. Diana graduated from Central Michigan University and dedicated many years as an Employment Training Manager for EightCap, Inc. She was an active member of the Greenville Rotary Club, serving as president from 1999 to 2000, and was a board member of the Flat River Community Library. Diana was an avid gardener, cherished time spent with her grandchildren, and had a deep love for all things Irish. Diana was preceded in death by her husband William Nathaniel Jones (1983); parents John and Marcella Kennedy; sister Barbara Ann Kennedy; granddaughter Lauren Nicole Helms; favorite Aunt Gloria Pickard; cousins Sue Wereb and Janet Brown; and her sister-in-law Janice Kennedy. She is survived by her children: Teena (Jeff) Hiebner and granddaughter Emily Hiebner; Barbara (Steve) Helms and grandson Nathan (Kimmie Pecoraro) Helms and great-granddaughter Stevie Jo, and granddaughter Madison Helms; William N. (Tracy Hammen) Jones, Jr. and grandchildren Sean (Angela Wesolaski) Jones and Marushka O’Neal. She is also survived by her brothers Thomas Martin (Debbie) Kennedy and John Robert Kennedy Jr., many nieces and nephews, and her loving companion and close friend Duane Stevens. A service will be held on Saturday, August 10, at 11:00 am at St. Charles Catholic Church in Greenville, followed by a rollicking Celebration of Life at her home in Greenville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Diana M. Kennedy-Jones Memorial Scholarship at Montcalm Community College. Diana, a strong and determined woman, received her associate degree from MCC as a non-traditional student, studying alongside her children and serving as a role model. Gifts can be sent to Montcalm Community College Foundation, 2800 College Dr., Sidney, MI 48885. Checks should be made payable to MCCF Scholarships with the scholarship name in the memo. Donations can also be made online at Montcalm Community College (www.Montcalm.edu/give-now), designating this scholarship. Arrangements are by the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, www.marshallfuneralhomeinc.com, where you can view the complete obituary and leave a message of condolence for the family.
