David Allan Nygren

David Allan Nygren age 72, of Stanton, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 at his home with care of his family and Elara Caring Hospice.  David was born September 8, 1949 in Grand Rapids and later moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan with his family.  He attended Sault High and Lake Superior State College before entering and serving in the United States Army from 1968 to 1971.  He then continued his education after the Army and received his bachelor’s degree at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant.  He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence F. & Nadene L. (Hokanson) Nygren, sister Christine Nygren Gough, two grandsons Dominic “DJ” Nolff and Daniel David Hurt and aunt Edith. David is survived by his loving wife Linda of 50 years; children Kimberly (Jerry) Fancett of Sheridan, Paula Lawton & (Chuck Rock) of Harrison, Jennifer Nygren Potts & (Jason Potts) of Grand Rapids and Bill Hurt of Springfield, Illinois 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother Carl Nygren of Wisconsin; sisters in law Glenda Mitchell Knudson of Muskegon and Beverly Mitchell of Alma; several nieces and nephews and special friends Bonnie & Rich Morris of Belmont, Michigan.  A Memorial to Celebrate his Life will be 2 to 6:30 PM Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Stanton American Legion.  Military Services will be held at 3 PM.  He will be missed very much by all.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to kidsfoodbasket.org.  Arrangements are by the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, with complete obituary online at www.marshallfuneralhomeinc.com where you can leave a message of condolence for the family.
