Chad Lawrence Elderkin

Chad Lawrence Elderkin, age 50, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, November 28th, 2021. Surrounded by family and under the care of Spectrum Hospice, he passed away peacefully. He was born on June 25th, 1971. Chad proudly enlisted in the Navy from 1991-1993, serving in Desert Storm. Chad was an avid hunter. He enjoyed rifle and bow season. He spent much of his time in his garage, doing what he loved most, working on vehicles. As a hobby, gaming competitively always made him happy. He adopted his dog and best friend, Finn, a couple of years ago. Finn was his pride and joy. Chad is survived by his children Samantha (Corey) Richards of Saranac, Jordan (Jordan) Knowlton of Grand Rapids and Devan Elderkin of Kenosha, Wisconsin; mother Debra D. DeVowe of Sand Lake; father Patrick L. Elderkin of Greenville; sister April (Bruce) Bentley of Greenville; brother Adam Elderkin of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; grandchildren Harper and Aleiya; niece Addyson; nephew Brock; biological mother Tamyra Davis of Charlotte and by his close friend, Christopher Holliday, that Chad called family. There will be no services at this time. A Celebration of His Life and Military Services will be in the summer of 2022. Members of the family will meet with friends and relatives on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 from 1pm to 3pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville. For those that would like to stop for a short visit to pay their respects, are welcomed. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Legion Veteran Funeral Fund.
