Cedar Springs

Bonnie Palmer, age 76, of Cedar Springs, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at home under the care of Corewell Hospice. Born on October 12, 1948, in Greenville, she was the beloved daughter of Leo J. and Esther (Huckleberry) Palmer.

Bonnie’s life was a celebration of love, family, and simple joys. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always making each one feel special with her warmth, laughter, and boundless kindness. Her homestead was a reflection of her heart—a place where family, friends, and neighbors were always welcome, and where the beauty of the land mirrored the generosity and care she showed to everyone around her.

A devoted animal lover, Bonnie’s dogs and birds were cherished companions, each one a beloved member of the family. She found joy in tending her garden, sharing stories over diet pepsi, baking treats for holidays, and sitting on the porch watching life unfold around her. Her home radiated love, comfort, and a quiet sense of peace that drew people in and made them feel at home.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Lawrence and Juanita Horning of Baldwin, Leo and Stephanie Horning of Gowen, Michelle Sowers of Carson City, and Melody and Christopher Bobo of Huntington Beach, CA; her grandchildren, Melody Horning, Mike Horning, Madison Horning, Uriah Horning, Tye Horning, Tiphanie Galehouse, Stacey Freeman, Justin Freeman, Tieanna Brayton, Jordan Preston, Jake Zandi, Jonah Zandi, Hannah Zandi, Jack Bobo, Joey Bobo, Addison Bobo, and Jacob Bobo; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend and caretaker, Jacalyn Vinton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Leo Horning, Jr., and her siblings, Danny Palmer, Debbie Palmer, Joyce Palmer, and Cecil Palmer.

A Celebration of Life Ride will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at West Montcalm Cemetery (Wolverton Plains). Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville.
