Betty Louise McKeever, age 86, of Gowen, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, after a long and fulfilling life.
Born on May 7, 1939, Betty was the daughter of George and B. Louise (Larson) Boone. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Betty was employed at Gibson/Electrolux for many years, retiring in the early 2000s.
In her younger years, Betty enjoyed motorcycle hill climbing, reflecting her adventurous and spirited nature. In later years, she found happiness in the simple pleasures of life—flower gardening, playing solitaire, assembling puzzles, and reading two to three books a week. She also cherished time spent with friends, whether dining out or visiting casinos, including annual trips to Las Vegas. Her beloved cats were constant companions through the years.
Betty is survived by her children: William Palmer of Gowen, Shannon Palmer of Kalamazoo, and David Palmer of Gowen; grandchildren: Mandy (Jessica) Knickerbocker, Casey (Natalie) Knickerbocker, Rachel Dahlke, Messina Maxwell, Aaron (Alexandra) Palmer, Brittney Palmer, and Gracie Vore; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends who shared in her laughter, stories, and adventures.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, George “Buddy” Palmer; and her sisters, Bonnie Wilson and Nancy Small.
A visitation to celebrate the life of Betty will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Marshall Funeral Home, 420 W. Grove Street, Greenville, Michigan. A luncheon will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post in Greenville. The family invites all who knew and loved Betty to join in honoring her memory.
