Barbara G. Snyder age 82, of Greenville passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital in Greenville. She was born January 1, 1934 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Royal I. & Goldie E. (Johnson) Davenport. She was a member of the First Church of God and actively participated in the Women of the Church of God, had been involved with the girl scouts, Girls Athletic Association and was the most exceptional mother to not only her own children, but to their childhood friends, as well as to her many, many nieces and nephews. Barbara loved her life on the farm with “her Johnny”, enjoying family vacations at Lake Michigan, and was delighted whenever she could immerse herself creatively, whether it be in her oil paints, or in the countless array of needleart projects in which she was highly skilled. Barbara is survived by her children Jeff & (Sue) Snyder of Greenville, Tracey Salzemnieks of Grand Rapids, Andrea & (Rob) Kennedy of Clare, and Mike & (Sheila) Davenport of Greenville. 7 grandchildren Kelly Snyder & (Herman Renkema), Jennifer & (Jim) Baxter, Adam & (Nicole) Snyder, Marshall and Tyler Salzemnieks, Ryan Kennedy, Megan Kennedy & (Jed Mcconnell); 4 great grandchildren, Bentley and Brayden Snyder, Jackson Baxter, and Violet Mcconnell. She was preceded in death by her husband John W. Snyder on June 16, 2000, son Courtney “Corky” J. Snyder and her brother Gerald Davenport. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the First Church of God, Greenville with Pastors Dave Perry & Bob Cooper officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville and at the church from 10 AM till the funeral on Thursday. Burial will be in Oakfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Barbara’s name to the First Church of God Youth.
