Barbara L. Rowland

Barbara L. Rowland age 75, of Trufant, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 at Spectrum Health in Greenville. She was born October 18, 1943, the daughter of Melvin & Mabel (Steffensen) Nelson. She was a member of the Langston Bible Church, loved bingo, reading, coloring, puzzles and playing cards with her grandchildren. Barb is survived by her husband Hugh; children Ronald Morgan of Hanceville, Alabama, David (Dawn) Morgan of Brownstown, and Krista (James) Byer of Greenville; four grandchildren Brandon (Courtney) Morgan, Draven Taylor, Kara Taylor and Brody Byer; one great granddaughter; mother Mabel Nelson of North Carolina; sister Bonnie VanDeMark of Ohio; best friend that she called her sister Judy Becker of Coral and Baby her dog. She is preceded in death by her father Melvin Nelson and her brothers Richard and Ronald Nelson. A Celebration of Her Life will be 11 AM Saturday, August 10, 2019 at The Langston Bible Church, with Pastor Jeff Davis officiating. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Langston. Members of the family will meet with friends and relatives at a luncheon following the burial. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Barbara’s name to the Langston Bible Church.
