Ardeth Ellen Deitz (Nielsen) passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 23, 2023. Born June 27, 1925 in Greenville, Michigan, she was the daughter to the late Margaret Dorothy and Hans Burley Nielsen. Ardeth was the oldest of seven siblings. She lived the majority of her life in Belding, Michigan and was a 1944 graduate of Belding High School. Ardeth was a long-time member and active volunteer at Ashley Baptist Church and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary – Belding Post. Ardeth’s memory will forever be cherished in the heart of her loving family and everyone that knew her. Ardeth was proceeded in her death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Deitz and beloved siblings, Vern Elwood Nielsen, Mercedes (Mert) Stapleton, Edward Martin Nielsen, Marjorie (Lou) Smith and Margaret Ruth Whitney. Ardeth is survived by her daughters, Sandra Simpson (Robert) of The Villages, Florida and Linda Sewell (Gary) of Ionia, Michigan; sister, Dorothy Anna Lyons of White Pigeon, Michigan; Sister-in Laws, Anna Nielsen of Belding, Michigan and Mary Mumby of Greenville, Michigan; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Cottage Grove Care, Inc. and Sparrow Hospice Services for the loving and comfortable care provided to Ardeth during her final stage of life. A celebration of her life is being planned and will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Sparrow Hospice Services.
